Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas (TOG #4)

Queen of Shadows

Amazon | Goodreads

4/5 Acts of Revenge

What is it about?

Throne of Glass is about an Assassin who was forced to work for the evil king who destroyed her family, her country, her life. This is the same evil king who banished magic from his kingdom and has destroyed many other nations along the way. This is the same evil king who has been creating some very evil creatures to do his bidding.

I don’t want to spoil too much, but in book 4 Celaena Sardothian is finally in a position where she can move forward with her plans of revenge.

Was it good?

Celaena has her swagger back and she’s ready to kick butt from page 1. This was a very high-speed action filled story. All your favorite characters are likely to be in this book. (Mine were!)

That scene where Manon (the witch) and Celaena (the assassin) meet for the first time was just brilliant.

Overall I enjoyed reading this book and I think it makes a great addition to the series.ย It would have been perfect without that bit of romantic drama and also I thought the ending dragged on for a while. I seriously thought each of the last 6 chapters was going to be the last one.

  1. Ah, I do love me some assassins… but I have been consciously keeping myself away from this series (author). Seeing your high scored kind of makes me feel like I am missing out ๐Ÿ˜€ but dayum, that series is a commitment and I already have a few series that I want to finish first .. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. I understand! I keep finding more and more interesting series and I just donโ€™t know how Iโ€™m going to read them all!

Which series are you most excited about tackling next? Iโ€™m going to commit to the Mistborn series when I have this baby in a few months!

I think you should keep Throne of Glass on your back burner in case you have an opening because it is really interesting and fun to read!

      1. I have A.J Smiths The Long War series which I still need to read the final 2 books in and then i want to start John Gwynne’s The Faithful and The fallen series as well as Scott Lynch’s Gentleman Bastard series ๐Ÿ˜€
Sanderson has been on my radar for a while as well but blimey… it’ll be another year or something before I will read the Mistborn.. because I also want to finally read Game of Thrones books ๐Ÿ˜€ ah, so many books, not enough time!

Cool… I shall keep Throne of Glass on my radar… I do love a fun, entertaining read ๐Ÿ™‚

      2. Gentlemen Bastards is also on my list, but I have not heard of the other two series you mentioned. I’m scared to go look on goodreads because I will probably end up wanting to read them, too!

I figured long nights awake breastfeeding would be a good time to plow through Sanderson’s massive tomes. We will see!
